    The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is a popular "California born and brewed" family-run specialty coffee and tea retailer that was brought to Hawaii by the Sullivan Family of Companies in 2005.

    We are passionate about serving customers our carefully handcrafted products including an extensive menu of coffee, tea and beverage innovations exclusive to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, and locally made fresh food offerings.


    The Assistant Manager supports the store manager in running an efficient and profitable operation of a The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf store.

    The Assistant Manager is responsible for ensuring that the store meets Company standards in sales, staffing, product quality, visual merchandising, and operations.

    Assists the Store Manager with the goal of providing customers with excellent, quality products and fast, friendly service.

    This position enforces all procedures in the absence of the Store Manager and coordinates, as necessary, with the Corporate Office.

    Manages the training of Baristas and Lead Baristas.

    The Assistant Manager will have significant product knowledge and demonstrate positive, friendly and courteous customer service, as well as be able to demonstrate a commitment to our Guiding Principles and House Rules.

    *Skills
    • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
    • Computer literacy, Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Program, Word, Outlook, Excel etc.
    • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, multitasking and problem-solving skills
    • Requires high organization and great attention to detail
    • Performs with a "sense of urgency" and possesses a positive attitude
    *Education & Experience
    • High School Diploma or GED, required
    • Minimum (1) one year retail experience, preferably with a specialty coffee store
    • Assistant management in a specialty store or food establishment, preferred
    • Minimum of one (1) year customer service experience, preferred
    • Register and cash handling experience
    *Physical Requirements
    • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
    • Regularly required to handle food, hot beverages, and work with sharp objects
    • Frequent standing and walk for long periods of time, approximately 90% of shift
    • Ability to bend over and kneel frequently
    • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds; occasionally carry up to 25 pounds
    • Required to work in cold temperatures for long periods of time
