JOB TITLE: Adjunct Professor Health Systems Science (HSS)

SUPERVISOR: HSS Track Director

This job description provides a general outline of duties and qualifications of the position. Other duties may be assigned, and the description may be changed at any time. It is not intended to limit normal change and growth nor prevent employees from working to ensure the success of our endeavors.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the HSS Track Director, this role will provide subject-matter expertise to deliver instruction and build specific modules within Health Systems Science.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Module Development (50%)

Develops preparatory material, such as lectures, and then delivers to the students in assigned courses.
For each assigned module of the course, Adjunct Instructor should prepare the following within the KHSC learning management system:
- Overview introducing each module of content.
- Selected required prework and/or readings from the textbook(s) or other reading materials.
- Original content in the form of online lecture or other activities that extend the learning beyond what is included in the textbook.
- Classroom materials, if required.
- Discussion questions that can be facilitated.
- Relevant Assignments submitted for assessment purposes that track to course learning objectives such as quizzes, exams, papers, assigned problems, etc. subject to final approval of the Track Director.

Teaching (50%)

Deliver in-person and/or digitally, instruction for the developed course modules
Perform other related duties, as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

N/A

QUALIFICATION(S):

DO, MD, PhD, or other relevant terminal degree
Relevant expertise to the module content
Experience in higher education instruction
Experience in course development within a learning management system

Preferred Qualifications

Experience instructing medical or health care students in a graduate setting.
Experience in course development for medical or health care students in a graduate setting.

Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Be detailed oriented and have excellent interpersonal skills
