Pharmacy Technician II, Overnight Shift - Tewksbury

Job summary
The Technician II assists pharmacists in daily operations of pharmacy including preparation of prescriptions taking inventory processing product returns ensuring all orders are reviewed by registered pharmacist recording activity in compliance with regulatory company guidelines frequently communicates with customers for timely accurate order fulfillment.
Responsibilities
- Verifies receipt of medication deliveries at site reviews for accuracy demonstrates competency in automated dispensing machines carousels maintains pharmacy inventory fills ADMs at site anticipates needed medications supplies communicates clinical pharmacists PDC regarding medication stock changes needs accurately loads medications into ADMs carousels empties reconciles contents of ADM return bins ensures look-alike sound-alike medications segregated in ADMs carousels monitors stock-outs resolves in timely manner reports equipment issues to System Automation Technician monitors medication supply outdates rotates stock use before expiration date performs medication room/unit inspections communicates results clinical pharmacists PDC Director Pharmacy assists System Automation Technician review current par levels site implements par level/stock changes enters charges credits patient medications accurately repackages bulk medications unit-dose packages safely per established procedures using appropriate techniques as applicable performs sterile non-sterile compounding attends participates departmental meetings in-services quality improvement programs completes timely maintains required training education department requirements adheres departmental policies procedures complies risk management safety security fire infection control maintains safety-integrity-professionalism self coworkers organizes prioritizes work assignments demonstrates good oral written communication answers telephone identifying self department directs calls appropriate personnel keeps pharmacy areas clean neat well organized keeps pharmacy equipment clean completes documents assigned medication storage area inspections monthly identifies replaces outdated unusable drugs performs other duties assigned supervisor willing modify work schedule accommodate staffing needs facility.
