- Graduation from an approved school of medical technology is mandatory, while a B.S. degree is preferred.
- Hold a State of California Clinical Laboratory Technologist License. Possession of ASCP or an equivalent certification is desired. Compliance with state and federal requirements for supervising high complexity laboratory testing is essential.
- Desired background includes three years as a registered technologist in an acute care hospital.
- Proficiency in phlebotomy, medical terminology, typing, math, and computer skills is required. Ability to work independently and provide appropriate care for patients across various age groups.

Description
At NorthBay Health, the position of Clinical Laboratory Scientist II is a staff level role that reports directly to the Supervisor, Laboratory Director, and Medical Director. The main responsibilities include performing, interpreting, and reporting laboratory testing accurately and timely. This position is also in charge of supervising technicians and other staff members. Critical thinking skills are a must, as well as independent judgment based on knowledge of laboratory medicine and disease processes.
