Description:
The Supervisor, Tax Data Management & Innovation, will play a key role in developing the Tax function using technology. In addition, this position will identify the technology needs of Tax to allow support to our businesses and the rapidly changing external tax regulatory landscape.
This role will assist the Advisory function within Tax Data Management & Innovation on Tax system integration projects, automation projects, and process improvement by partnering closing with tax and non-tax business partners (Technology, Finance, Controllership, and Financial System partners).
The objectives of the position are to
support the tax technology aspects of business initiatives, tax transformation, and on the tax technology roadmap
meet project milestones
provide accurate requirements and project updates, and
work collaboratively with cross-functional team members.
Basic Qualifications:
Prioritize a slate of overlapping key tax process requirements gathering, documenting, and testing.
Analyze and communicate relevant updates to project team members and leadership.
Develop & provide relevant training/materials to external & internal areas.
Work with a variety of data sources
Identify incomplete or inaccurate data and root causes.
Propose solutions to correct issues or escalate issues as appropriate.
Assist with implementing, maintaining, and documenting all tax applications (Vertex, SAP, BRIM, IAP taxability, ONESOURCE, WorkFront, etc.)
Reconciliation of system data within tax systems and monitoring efficiency and enhancements.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a field similar to those listed and 5-10 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree or on a path toward licensing as a Certified Member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (CMI) OR Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Experience with data tools that enable the transformation and analysis of large data sets is also a plus.
SAP, Vertex O Series, Vertex Returns, PTMS, OneSource, Alteryx, Python experience is a plus.
