    Title of Position: Marketing Intern

    Reports To: Director, Marketing

    Pay Grade: 322

    Rate of pay: $18.00 per hour

    Posting Date: May 8, 2024

    JOB SUMMARY

    This position is responsible for conducting market research with a focus on transportation, logistics and international business. The position is part-time and offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience and skills in market research, web development and business analytics.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    1. Build supply chain pricing databases incorporating ocean freight charges, insurance and inland freight costs between specific origin/destination pairs.
    2. Update warehouse database.
    3. Analyze vessel and harbor information for competitive insights.
    4. Deliver presentation by end of internship.

    DIRECT REPORTS

    This position does not supervise employees.

    OTHER DUTIES:

    1. Performs other administrative and related functions, as assigned and dictated by department needs.
    2. Maintains files for record retention programs, in accordance with the department, JAXPORT, and other applicable laws and regulations.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Education:

    • High School diploma or equivalent required.
    • Academic Major Junior/Senior Undergraduate or Graduate in Transportation & Logistics, International Business and/or Business Management required.

    License/Certifications: N/A

    Knowledge:

    • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite with particular focus on Excel required.
    • Python, Javascript, API experience helpful.

    Skills Required:

    • High level of professionalism and resourcefulness.
    • Highly organized, strong analytical and research skills.

    Travel: Minimal to none.

    Other Requirements:

    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) during employment.

    Physical Requirements:


    • Frequently remain in a stationary position.


    • Frequently move, traverse inside office or on JAXPORT property to accomplish job duties.


    • Frequently operate, use or handle equipment, tools, computers and other office machinery.


    • Rarely/Never ascend, descend, work atop, traverse on ladders, equipment and buildings to perform maintenance and safety functions. Heights up to 200 feet.


    • Rarely position self to move, to maintain or repair equipment on terminal or in office.


    • Constantly detect, determine, identify, recognize, observe, inspect to read and use computers.


    • Constantly detect, converse with, convey, exchange information with others via radio, telephone. Ability to listen to equipment to troubleshoot


    • Frequently move, transport and position, material up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 75 pounds.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment or local travel for meetings or functions.
