In this role, you will lead a dedicated team responsible for developing systems that ensure legal compliance for tax payments and filings. Your leadership will directly contribute to the success of businesses by maintaining their compliance with ever-changing tax regulations. Accountabilities

Build and foster an inclusive, collaborative, and impact-oriented culture
Coach, mentor, and sustain a high-performing team of engineers, including regular 1:1s and performance coaching
Maintain cross-functional relationships with key partners in Product, Data, Tax Operations, and other teams
Set technical direction for the team to meet compliance commitments
Advocate for systems that uphold high standards of correctness while enabling speed and iteration
Engage in understanding tax domain context to weigh in on technical decisions

Requirements

8+ years of software engineering experience, including backend systems
2-4 years of engineering management experience with high-performing teams
Deep technical expertise in high-volume, mission-critical systems
Experience in ensuring operational excellence for production systems
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Service mindset with a focus on curiosity and empowerment
Bonus: experience with financial and regulatory systems
