    The Program Manager, Grants Planning and Development, leads planning activities in line with organizational strategies, goals and objectives to further the mission of ACCESS and garner private and government funding.

    The position works with physicians, staff, and community partners to plan and implement new programs that respond to the unmet health care needs of our patients and their communities.

    The Planning and Development department is responsible for raising 15-20 percent of the organization's budget annually through public and private sources.

    Core Job Responsibilities


    • Develop relationships to support ACCESS' priorities and service delivery. Represent ACCESS in planning forums with other organizations (e.g. at community or funder meetings). This includes establishing and maintaining organizational relationships with funders.
    • Research, analyze and present community, health center, and financial data to support planning activities.
    • Identify and evaluate government and private funders and funding opportunities for their strategic, financial, and programmatic value.
    • Develop funding applications and related planning materials that advance organizational strategies and programming with an understanding of funders'/partners'/communities' priorities.
    • Coordinate implementation activities to ensure program deliverables and objectives are met.
    • Orient appropriate staff to grant aims, goals and deliverables upon grant award.
    • Monitor and report progress towards program goals and budgets.
    • Troubleshoot problem areas and suggest solutions for the successful implementation of grant funded programs.
    • Develop, monitor, and revise grant and operational budgets in partnership with Finance and Program Managers; ensure alignment with internal and external guidelines.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Requirements/Preferences


    • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in program development and/or grant writing or grant making, program planning and implementation
    • Experience working in Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) preferred
    • Experience writing successful program and/or research grant applications with thorough attention to detail
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
    • Organizational skills; strong attention to detail and accuracy
    • Collaboration - ability to interact and engage with stakeholders and build strong relationships at all levels and across all business units
    • Communication - ability to communicate effectively (oral, written and presentations) across all organizational levels
    • Interpersonal skills - ability to interact with all stakeholders and build strong relationships at all levels and across all business units and organizations
    • Cultural competency - experience working in a multi-cultural environment; ability to work with diverse persons, and personalities.
    • Analytic - ability to easily consume, process, and analyze data; make recommendations as to appropriate data strategies and tactics
    • Critical thinking - ability to think through and analyze critical factors and variables that will influence the long-term success of the project/goal
    • Exceptional time and priority management applied to a fast-paced environment
    • Problem solving - ability to identify/define problems; gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
