    Job Summary

    The Controller monitors the company's financial health through planning and directing the day-to-day accounting operations of the company. Oversees all functions within the accounting operations. Works closely with all departments to promote an environment of trust and productivity and to achieve corporate objectives. Reports to the CFO/COO.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develops and maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risks
    • Responsible for overall productivity and timely delivery of accurate financials in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
    • Provides leadership and mentoring to direct reports; participates in hiring, onboarding, training and evaluates performance
    • Establishes benchmarks that will be used to measure the company's performance.
    • Ensures timely and accurate billing of services and equipment
    • Ensures timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end close
    • Oversees collections; alerts management regarding unresolved past due accounts
    • Reconciles balance sheet accounts
    • Maintains fixed assets
    • Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
    • Provides financial analysis; makes recommendation to improve profitability through reduced expenses or elimination of waste.
    • Assists with external audits; provides needed information
    • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
    • Conducts internal audits
    • Evaluates, recommends, and implements technology solutions to improve timeliness, accuracy and efficiency
    • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned

    Requirements and Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred and/or equivalent experience; construction or manufacturing experience preferred
    • 5 years of accounting experience; including 2 years in a leadership role
    • CPA or other relevant certifications a plus
    • Strong ERP knowledge required; Foundation software a plus
    • Excellent leadership qualities
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent organization and time management skills; ability to juggle priorities and meet deadlines
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
    • Advanced proficiency in Excel
    • Attention to detail

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
    • Routinely required to walk, sit, stand, balance, stoop, bend, push, pull, lift, reach, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb stairs and use of both hands
    • Must have vision, hearing, and ability to talk
    • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
