    Job Description

    Reporting to the Vice President - Strategy & Development, Americas, the Account Manager, for the assigned customer and/or products portfolio, is the single point of contact and responsible for building and expanding relationships with new and existing customers in the Power Generation, Industrial, Pulp and Paper, and Downstream and Chemical Markets. Responsible to provide on-going technical and business support to customers as well as managing varying sized proposals/projects that may require considerable organizational resources and elevated levels of functional integration.

    Responsibilities

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Function as the primary point of contact for assigned customers and be responsible for all aspects of the customer relationship. Be proactive about customer needs, act quickly and facilitate discussions/meetings between internal organization and customers to address unit operations, technical issues and/or business discussions.
    • Maintain constant contact with customers, obtain first-hand input on plant operational issues, and customer's intentions in terms of inspections, repairs, upgrades, equipment/parts replacement, and maintenance outage scope and schedules.
    • Applies extensive and comprehensive knowledge of the organization's work processes, business practices and will organize, direct, and control all activities on assigned project(s). Ensures adherence to all quality and/or safety standards.
    • Works closely and effectively with customers, vendors, and subcontractors. Responsible for all aspects of preparing customer proposals and processing all customer orders. Works closely with Design and Performance Engineering to complete technical aspects of any proposal/order. Actively anticipates internal and external business challenges and recommends process, product, or service improvements.
    • Manages parts delivery, logistics and inventory to fulfill contractual requests, technical specifications, and project/outage schedules.
    • Develop and implement execution plan to achieve contract profitability and responsible for meeting or exceeding as-sold financial objectives, timely delivery and achieving a high degree of customer satisfaction.
    • Secure all advance payments, billings and cash-in on time with customers. Finding, alerting, and resolving risks to avoid any delays for finance achievements.
    • Works closely with Commercial, Legal and Supply Management Departments to ensure all commercial aspects of proposals are following Client specifications and Wood standards. Responsible for reviewing and facilitating engagement with Wood Management, Commercial and Legal teams to address Terms and Conditions/ Customer Agreements.
    • Position will require travel to plants, customers, conferences/trade shows, suppliers, etc.

    • Ability to take responsibility and using sound judgment make decisions to manage and address any issues that may arise. Has technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems and ability to formulate timely decisions and detailed action plan- propose different "outside the box" solutions.
    • Effective communication skills - written and verbal, ability to articulate in a clear and concise manner across all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Solicits and applies customer feedback (internal and external).
    • Proven ability to interact and work with all levels of internal and external organizations and work effectively in a cross-functional team. Works with integrity and ethically.
    • Ability to facilitate and drive process simplification and have ability to document, plan, market and execute programs.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
    Qualifications

    Qualifications:
    • Ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in engineering or business or a high school diploma/GED with at least 8+ years of working experience in turnkey, (design/build/install) environment with background in such areas as proposal and/or project engineering, proposal and/or project management, industry-related sales/business development, account management, application engineering, field service areas.
    • Has history and successful experience working with customers in Power Generation, Industrial, Pulp and Paper and Downstream and Chemical Markets.
    • Proven track record of account management and sales success. Established project management skills and experience carrying idea generation to project completion.
    • Requires commercial awareness and history of influencing the development of strategy for their customers, including control of resources and customer outcome discussions.
    • Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required. Note, this position will consider individuals with less experience than listed above but requires the willingness to expand skillset.
