    Description

    **Job Summary**

    Maintain, repair and inspect aircraft avionics systems and components. Perform maintenance actions on avionics such as F-15/F-16 aircraft avionics line replaceable units (LRU), compass systems, Navigation systems, communication systems, radar systems and associated Support Equipment (SE).

    Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment condition and operation. Reprogram avionics systems as required, run automatic diagnostic software, install avionics systems assemblies and sub-assemblies, connect and boresight flightline replaceable components.

    Perform inspections, repairs and calibrations on SE, conduct avionics phase inspections on aircraft and perform assigned tasks within your work center that directly supports necessary functions of this job classification.

    **Key Responsibilities**

    • Maintain, repair and inspect aircraft avionics systems and components
    • Perform maintenance actions on avionics
    • Reprogram avionics systems
    • Run automatic diagnostic software
    • Install avionics systems assemblies and sub-assemblies
    • Perform inspections, repairs and calibrations on SE
    • Conduct avionics phase inspections on aircraft

    **Requirements**

    • Knowledge of aircraft avionics systems is mandatory
    • Knowledge of electronics and analog/digital components and techniques is mandatory
    • Working knowledge of Air Force supply procedures
    • Completion of high school with courses in physics, chemistry and mathematics is desirable
    • Completion of basic avionics maintenance course is mandatory
    • Qualification as an Electronics Technician is mandatory
    • A minimum of three years of experience maintaining, troubleshooting, aligning, calibrating or repairing avionics equipment and SE is mandatory

    **Certifications and Qualifications**

    • SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED
    • Experience with F-15 LRUs and associated test equipment preferred
    • Knowledge of test equipment operation in the AIS Manuals Section is highly preferred
