Job DescriptionThe Hauf Lab at Virginia Tech ) is looking for a 1500-hr wage research technician to help with cloning and yeast strain construction for RNA live-cell imaging experiments.
This is part of projects that address the role of non-coding elements of mRNA and the molecular basis of "ultra-low" gene expression noise.
Techniques will include PCR, cloning, bacteria and yeast transformations, CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome editing of yeast, and fluorescence microscopy.
This position is restricted to months, and is ideal for someone who seeks additional training and experience in laboratory techniques before moving on to graduate school or an industry position.
