The Plant Controller manages all financial controls and the accounting activities of the Axis plant, including general and cost accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
This position ensures the plants financial control processes and systems comply with the companys policies, applicable regulations and provides required information.
The Plant Controller works as a partner with operations to understand operational activities for proactive and continuous improvement and decision-making.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.Performs monthly closing process, including but not limited to preparing month-end journal entries and reconciliations, financial statements, and overhead statements.
Creates budgets (operating and capital), financial forecasts, cash flow projections.Inventory control, cost accounting, and standard cost variance analysis.
Product line and project profitability analysis and reporting.
Tracks and reports key measurables to plant and corporate management.
Partners with operations to justify and document capital investment proposals.
Financial and business analysis as requested by operations leadership.
Departmental spending review and follow up to eliminate waste and ensure appropriate use of company funds.
Coordinates with external and internal auditors and provides necessary support.
Administrative matters such as taxes, insurance coverages, contracts, service agreements, etc.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management.
QualificationsThe following generally describes requirements to successfully perform the assigned duties.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.5+ years of manufacturing experience in accounting and finance, including management of people and teams.
Knowledge of GAAP financial and accounting principles and internal control procedures.Advanced communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to financial and non-financial stakeholders, including Executive leadership.
Proficiency in financial software and systems such as CPM, EPM, and ERP (e.g., SAP, OneStream, etc.).Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, focusing on Excel and PowerPoint.
Advanced analytical, resource allocation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines and multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
