- Provide ongoing assessment of clients' mental illness symptoms and clients' response to treatment.
- Provide direct clinical services including individual supportive therapy and psychotherapy to clients on an individual, group, and/or family basis in a residential treatment setting.
- Develop and maintain effective therapeutic alliance with clients, including conceptualizing and fostering effective therapeutic processes.
- Provide practical help and support, advocacy, coordination, side-by-side individualized support, problem solving, direct assistance training, and supervision to help clients obtain the necessities of daily living.
- Provide on-call crisis intervention.
- Participate in daily staff organizational meetings and treatment planning review meetings.
- Supervision of interns and observe/train staff providing clinical services.
- Manage clinical productivity and complete required reports in a timely manner.
- Supervise the clinical aspects of admissions/appropriateness of candidates.
- Oversee client treatment planning and discharge processes/paperwork.
- QA Charts.
- Complete requested authorizations and reviews.
- Support Program Manager in auditing charts, training staff, support clients.
- Complete documentation and meet minimum service time based on program requirements.
- Attends work on a regular and predictable basis.
- Maintain good professional relationships with appropriate community figures, referral sources, and other professionals.
- Maintain and enhance professional skills and knowledge through attending conferences/ workshops/courses and reading professional materials that are relevant to job requirements and approved by the Program Director. Maintain all continuing education requirements in order to maintain the therapist's professional level and status.
- Demonstrate familiarity with and adherence to Utah laws regarding confidentiality and mandatory reporting requirements.
- Conduct professional life in accordance with the standards of his/her discipline and the clinical policies and procedures of the agency.
- Maintain familiarity with issues and trends in the behavioral health field including comorbid mental health issues, advances in psychopharmacology, theory, and evidence-based practices.
- Performs other functions as necessary or assigned.
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a mental health discipline and current Utah licensure as a mental health therapist.
- Experience working with individuals diagnosed with a serious mental illness and/or substance use disorder preferred.
- Demonstrates an ability to use sound judgment within the scope of the position's responsibilities.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and adapt to change.
- Organized, detail oriented, self-starter.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail.
- Demonstrated skills in crisis intervention and de-escalation.
- Computer literate with familiarity of Microsoft Office/MS365
- Ability to uphold professional boundaries, confidentiality regulations, agency policies and procedures, and interact in a professional manner with a diverse workforce, clients, and the public.
- Willingness to accept supervision and direction.
- Become CPR and First Aid Certified.
- If driving is a part of the job, must be at least 21 years of age, possess a current driver's license, have a good driving record, and be insurable on the agency liability policy.
- Must be able to pass Utah-DHS – Office of Licensing background screening and pre-employment drug screen.
- Ability to walk up and down stairs.
- Ability to move around the facility, interacting with clients for extended periods.
- Work is generally performed in an office environment. May entail using a computer for extended periods of time.

Program Mission StatementEmpowering individuals who experience Co-Occurring mental wellness and substance use challenges to reclaim their lives, build resilience and cultivate lasting recovery through an all-encompassing personal approach.
Position SummaryUnder the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the therapist functions as a clinical member of the multidisciplinary team, providing substance use and mental health services to severely and persistently mentally ill clients in a community setting.
