    Description
    Position Overview
    The Supervising Mental Health Promoter will report to the Mental Health Clinical Supervisor and will work in collaboration with the MHCS to supervise and coordinate the work of UMHPs and Senior UMHP and provide support and administrative oversight in SPA 4 (Transitional Aged Youth) or SPA 6 (Unhoused Population).
    Duties
    • Implements the mission, vision and values of Para Los Niños established by the President/CEO and Board of Directors.
    • Monitors the progress of grant deliverables, including compliance with contractual requirements.
    • Develops, supports and continuously enhances culturally appropriate services and activities that promote trauma informed practices.
    • Builds positive relations with multi-disciplinary UMHP team as well as external and internal partners.
    • Supports with building and establishing partnerships, agreements, and contacts with new external partners.
    • Keeps all members of the team updated with relevant project information.
    • Organizes partnership meetings and communicates with administrative staff for logistical support.
    • Facilitates all program meetings including staff meetings, subcommittee meetings, and monthly social and wellness connection events as well as assigns roles and responsibilities to the team during these meetings.
    • Assists in the development of any reports for submission to funder.
    • Participates in the interviewing, hiring and training of program staff.
    • Provides guidance to UMHP staff including UMHPs and Senior UMHPs.
    • Develops workplans and calendar of program activities for community groups and events as stated in the Statement of Work.
    • Meets regularly with program staff to provide capacity building, program planning support, and assistance to effectively execute their tasks and provide professional development support.
    • Coordinates with program staff the implementation of evaluation measures and program assessments as outlined by DMH.
    • Develops partnerships with external partners to host COVID-19 vaccination clinics or COVID-19 education events as stated in the Statement of Work.
    • Responsible for on-boarding and training of staff.
    • Maintains frequent contact with administrative staff and site staff for problem solving, information exchange, and coordination of logistical support with program activities.
    • Coordinates efforts to link staff and families with appropriate community resources to support either the Transitional Aged Youth (SPA 4) or the Unhoused population (SPA 6).
    • Works collaboratively with UMHP partners in problem solving, information exchange, check-ins and coordination of efforts.
    • Meets weekly with Supervisor to provide program status updates.
    • Meets with evaluation team to ensure program data is captured to demonstrate program impact.
    • Assists in the dissemination, evaluation and Continuous Quality Improvement of the UMHP program with the assistance of the Data and Evaluation team.
    • Participates in weekly meetings, case conferences, training and professional consultation as necessary.
    • Designs and delivers training to staff and parents when applicable; topics include both specialized and multidisciplinary subject matter as they relate to the prevention and reduction of trauma.
    • Conducts presentations and provides information to community residents, partners, and schools about program objectives and activities.
    • Must be able to work weekends and evenings to accommodate for program activities with residents.
    • Must be sensitive to the socioeconomic cultural needs of the population served.
    • Engages and participates in community efforts to advance and develop community capacity building, empowerment, and advocacy.
    • Manages administrative, programmatic, and financial aspects of the assigned program.
    • Participates in related trainings and meetings, as required.
    • Performs other duties as assigned and deemed appropriate by MHCS and/or Clinical Program Manager.
    Qualifications and Experience Requirements
    • Bilingual English/Spanish required. English proficiency supporting professional-level verbal and written communication to children, parents and other staff members required.
    • Lived Experience: Has learned from challenges and mentors; willing to learn from others and create and engage with others. Life experience reflecting familiarity with systemic racism, the cultural practices and other experiences of the community in which they work.
    • Formal Education and/or Trainings/Certifications a plus.
    • Computer proficient (Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Quicken, Internet Explorer, Outlook and other basic data management software).
    • Strong experience working with the Latino Community, experience working with African American and/or Asian Pacific Islander Communities preferred.
    • Flexible approach to Problem-Solving.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skill in Spanish and English.
    • Experience working in a multicultural settings and sensitive to multicultural issues preferred.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which will include occasional evenings and/or weekends.
    Education and Certification Requirements
    • Master's degree or bachelor's degree required and additional years' experience sufficient to demonstrate the ability to satisfactorily meet the demands of the position.
    • Demonstrated work experience in cross-cultural collaborations and working with agency administrators.
    • Program development experience in the areas of curriculum, training, compliance, and supervision is preferred.
    • At least two years of supporting staff members and managing program activities desired.
    • Successfully pass all post offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, drug test and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
    • Current certification in CPR/First Aid.
    Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
    • Have the ability to identify and access community resources for families.
    • Have knowledge of the needs of children and families and factors that support their social and physical well-being.
    • Satisfactory completion of all background screening requirements.
    • Must have reliable automobile for use on the job (mileage to be reimbursed).
    • Valid CA driver license. State required automobile insurances coverage.
    • Good verbal and writing skills.
    • Bilingual (S/E) / bicultural required.
    Other Requirements
    • Must have reliable transportation and State required automobile insurance coverage and valid Class C California driver's license (mileage to be reimbursed).
    • Clean driving record.

    • Approximately 50% of time is spent sitting, while frequently required to walk, stand and bend.
    • Must be able to speak and hear well.
    • Good vision is imperative.
    • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
    • Employee will be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds without assistance.
