    At GCI, we solve the hard problems. As a Senior Technical Editor, a typical day will include the following duties:

    Description

    The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of technical writing principles and practices, as well as experience editing and proofreading technical documentation. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and readability of our technical documentation. You will also work with other members of the technical team to gather and analyze requirements, and to create and deliver documentation that meets the needs of our customers.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Reviews and edits complex material for punctuation, grammar, and content.

    Identifies and modifies complex contextual errors, reorganizes content, and edits graphics, tables, and illustrations.

    Provides advice for the development for the process of crafting and refining ideas, cultivating sources, and developing highly complex and articulate articles.

    Collaborates closely with technical teams to deliver appropriate and highly complex content.

    Provides guidance and leadership to less-experienced technical editor personnel.

    May serve as a team or task leader. (Not a people manager)

    Desired Certificates

    Practitioner Certification through the Society for Technical Communicators

    Education Requirement

    BA/BS (or equivalent experience)

    Experience Requirement

    11+ years of experience
