    Job DescriptionPartners In Care is seeking a Referral Services Administrative Specialist who is responsible for supporting all aspects of the patient intake processes, including establishing and maintaining positive relationships with customers and referral sources.

    Compensation: $21.00-$28.00 (DOE).
    Location: Bend, Oregon.
    Schedule: Full-time, Monday- Friday, 8 am-5 pm.

    What You Get To Do:
    • Assists with all incoming calls and takes referrals.
    • Triages incoming calls to determine services needed and/or refer to other PIC programs/MDs as needed.
    • Processes ROC upon hospital discharge.
    • Registers new patients using electronic medical records (EMR).
    • Enters new referrals into patient charts in EMR.
    • Requests all needed information from referral sources.
    • Processes and coordinates palliative care referrals.
    • Coordinates with Summit oncology, PCMD/FNP, Palliative Care, and Transitions teams.
    • Checks Medicare insurance for all hospice referrals.
    • Checks Medicaid eligibility for hospice.
    • Verifies new referring physician licensure and NPI numbers, enters into Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
    • Enters new referring/attending physicians into Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
    • Follows up on all orders and records requests as needed.
    • Provides clinical intake support and backup, as needed; enters medications; pre-admits phone calls to patients/family; requests orders, requests CTIs
    • Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
    • Adheres to the PIC mission and values. Supports the organization.
    Required Skills & Qualifications:
    • Medical terminology skills preferred.
    • Ability to deal tactfully with customers and the community.
    • Demonstrates excellent public relations skills.
    • Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility, and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
    • 2-3 years experience in health care or related field preferred.
    • Proficient in MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
    • Ability to pass a background test, drug screen, and TB test.
    • For those working in the field, current automobile insurance, a valid Oregon drivers license, and reliable transportation are required.
