    Position Summary
    This position will serve as the lab manager/research technician for the research lab of Dr. Anumantha G Kanthasamy in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology.

    The research lab conducts NIH-funded basic research pertaining to neurodegenerative and neuroinflammatory mechanisms in cell culture and preclinical mouse models of Parkinson's disease and related neurological disorders.

    The lab's translational research focuses on biomarker discovery in human samples and testing novel therapeutics in preclinical animal models.


    Responsibilities of this position will include multiple aspects of scientific research including experimental design and execution, assay optimization and validation, data collection, and project management.

    Prior experience with mouse work. The employee will perform multiple behavioral, neurobiochemical and histological assays.

    Organize and assist in implementation of research projects including data
    collection and project management. Read and develop basic understanding
    of research project protocols. Maintain accurate records with every aspect
    of research projects. Proper disposal of biohazard waste. Perform
    inventory, and provide basic maintenance and ordering of research
    supplies and equipment.

    administering treatments, and management. Assist with the collection of
    blood and urine.
