    We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurses for an immediate travel nurse position in Birmingham, Alabama.

    Job Summary

    This is a unique opportunity to join our team as a CVICU Travel Nurse, working with a diverse group of caregivers to provide specialized care to patients following complex procedures, including open-heart surgery and heart transplants. As a CVICU Travel Nurse, you will be responsible for administering care to patients with potentially life-threatening heart conditions in a fast-paced, urgent, and critical care environment.

    About the Role

    • Provide critical care to patients with life-threatening heart conditions
    • Administer prescribed medications
    • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests
    • Apply hemodynamic, phlebotomy, and IV protocols
    • Respond to emergencies and provide CPR and defibrillator operation hospital-wide
    • Educate patients and family members on recovery at home

    The ideal candidate should be able to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty, and lift up to 50 pounds when necessary. Due to the fast-paced environment, strong coping skills and the ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds are essential.

    Requirements

    • Active ACLS certification
    • Current BLS certification
    • NIH certification
    • At least one year of recent acute care experience

    The estimated salary for this role is $145,000 - $170,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This estimate is based on national averages and may vary depending on location and other factors.
