    • Serve as working leader for all branch employees in accomplishing inspections of trades and labor work.
    • Lead a branch of quality control inspectors responsible for inspection of helicopter in-process and final acceptance inspections of repair and fabrication work on rotary wing aircraft parts and structures.
    • Perform inspections on helicopter aircraft parts and structures, inclusive of structural and nonstructural airframes components, equipment, subassemblies and complete airframes that have been overhauled, modified, or repaired by trade workers.

    Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to lead as a Sheet Metal Repair Inspector Leader (Aircraft) without more than normal supervision.

    I have the ability to lead or supervise implementation of new or changed production operating procedures and techniques to improve planning and control responsiveness to workload and production requirements.

    I have experience in using complex shop mathematics in order to plan and lay out the repair and/or modification needed.

    - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

    You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:


    • Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)
    • Ability To Lead or Supervise
    • Ability to Use Hand Tools, Power Tools, etc., for Metal Work
    • Dexterity (Assembly Disassembly Reassembly etc)
    • Knowledge of Equipment, Structure, Materials, etc. (includes constructing repair, and forging)
    • Layout and Pattern Development (includes Geometric Projection and Triangulation)
    PHYSICAL EFFORT May require long periods of walking, bending, stooping, climbing tall work stands, and standing.

    Heavy lifting is required by this position; however, when required to lift objects weighing in excess of 35 pounds, incumbent will obtain assistance of others or use mechanical handling equipment.

    WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed in shop areas subject to shop and equipment noise. Subject to hazard of electrical shock, cuts and bruises, noise and possibility of falling from aircraft and work-stands. Requires adherence to proper safety procedures and use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Working conditions are considered in the evaluation of the position. Requires wearing of safety equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety harness.

    May require obtaining and maintaining a security clearance and valid passport, availability for TDY (on 24 hour notice) and on call duty.
