Job Summary

The Dispatcher handles all incoming calls, tracks all hot loads, updates, and repower loads if necessary. Candidates will also communicate any issues to the customer or day operations making sure all other drivers are moving at specified times given to them by account managers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitors personnel and driver utilization to coordinate service and schedules.
• Schedules or dispatches drivers to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs using Qualcomm devices or telephone.
• Communicates with customers or supervising personnel to address questions, problems or requests for service.
• Advises personnel about traffic problems, such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions or other hazards.
• Ensures that each driver has an adequate understanding of customer and company expectations.
• Daily accounting of all assigned trucks or drivers.
• Monitors on-time performance for customers.
• Responsible for on-time pick up and delivery performance, out of route miles, hours of service compliance and special routing needs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; Associates degree preferred.
• 1-3 years' experience in the transportation industry. LTL experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft products including Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
