    Job Summary

    Directs and coordinates activities of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors and teammates.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Confers with management to establish production standards, develop budgets and cost controls. Also confers with management to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
    • Ensure adherence to SOP's, GMP & ISO policies and support of the Company Quality Policy.
    • Develop and/or revise standard operational and working practices; observe teammates to ensure compliance with standards.
    • Support, develop and lead Shift Supervisors toward an efficient and productive work flow.
    • Plans and directs production activities establishing production priorities in keeping with effective operations and ensuring costs are kept as low as possible.
    • Coordinates production activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
    • Creates, reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and reports to help determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, operating problems or production problems.
    • Creates, reviews and analyzes headcount reports to ensure appropriate staff levels and requests additional staff or realigns/transfers staff as needed.
    • Resolves operational manufacturing issues to ensure that product is produced at the lowest possible cost and that operational delays are prevented.
    • In conjunction with Engineering, develops; revises; and implements new standard operational practices and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems while enhancing efficiency, implementing lean practices, improving product quality, and improving work place safety. Observes workers to ensure compliance with standards. Creates a continuous improvement culture utilizing Lean Manufacturing, 5S principles, Kaizen activity, and employee participation.
    • Collaborates with the Environmental Health and Safety Manager regarding training for workers on issues related to health and safety; may facilitate training either personally or through supporting supervisors; serves in a leadership role on all plant safety committees.
    • Monitor all areas as to conformance to budget and report on variances.
    • Investigate and initiate corrective action for customer complaints, or nonconformance of any kind
    • Resolves worker concerns through open door policy or refer unresolved concerns to Human Resources for action.
    • Initiates over 30% of the project workload as well as assigning project responsibilities to supporting staff.
    Qualifying Experience

    • College Degree required, Business or Engineering preferred
    • 8-10 years experience in a Manufacturing and Production environment
    • 8-10 years leadership experience
    • Lean Certified a plus
