- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems in classified and unclassified environments
- Troubleshoot systems primarily in a Linux environment and secondarily in a Windows environment.
- Installing, configuring, and managing the Linux operating systems and related tool sets supporting NAVAIR
- Keeping servers "compliant" per NAVAIR and DISA policies to include backup and disaster recovery requirements, anti-virus protection, and implementing system security.
- Knowledge of backup plans and rotation cycles.
- Maintaining the information on the Knowledge Base site.
- Producing documentation that details and describes the systems, procedures, events, and any associated processes.
- Building new infrastructure servers.
- Maintaining, tuning, and patching systems for optimum performance and security
- Participating in weekly routine maintenance tasks.
- Responding to system failures promptly to bring applications back online
- Configuring network hardware (e.g., servers, routers and switches)
- Upgrading and repairing computer networks
- Troubleshooting network issues
- Assisting network architects with the design of network models
- Implementing security measures and basic testing
- If candidate does not possess three (3) years of experience as described in the above bullet, then Satisfactory completion of Navy "A" and "C" schools plus no less than one (1) year of hands-on experience after completing schools or service equivalent schools is an acceptable substitute.

- Experience in DoD Information Assurance/Cyber policy and procedures to include hardening of systems, implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and scanning desired
- Experience with Linux Server to include the build, maintenance, and troubleshooting, as well as addressing, service requests, routine sever maintenance (firmware, failures, hardening, etc.), and server consolidation
