Knowledge of AWS weld symbols is required.

Should have the ability to recognize and use the correct WPS for the process and joint design that will be welded.

Operate cutting and heating torches.

Complete understanding of pre-heat functions Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits together fabricated parts of structural metal products according to blueprint and layout specifications.

Ability to properly fit mill to bear parts such as stiffeners, base plates, and other components Ability to accurately perform complex heat corrections while adhering to procedures with no supervision.

Ability to check camber, sweep tolerances of beams and other steel shapes Set up complex jigs or assemblies Must be able to set-up and use track torch.

Weld materials to conform to specified dimensions, standards, and Weld Procedure Specifications.

Ability to Read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints with emphasis on welding details The essential functions of this role include:
