    The Electrical Engineer supports the electrical engineering needs through analysis, management, and monitoring of projects at our manufacturing plant location. This role will propose recommendations to resolve power related issues as well as work with various department staff (i.e plant electricians, plant employees, etc.), contractors, etc. to execute designed resolutions. The Electrical Engineer will manage the life cycle of assigned projects beginning with design and ending with a viable solution. This role reports to the Plant Manager.

    Essential Functions

    • Ensuring that installation and operations conform to standards and requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications, or technical drawings.
    • Ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, or requirements by coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support or testing activities.
    • Ensuring construction, manufacturing or installation standards or specifications are met by performing a wide range of detailed calculations.
    • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving high voltage electrical system problems
    • Ensure all electrical system drawings and technical data is up to date and properly organized for easy access and use.
    • Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies.
    • Performing a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment.
    • Manage and execute projects beginning with initial scoping to final completion.
    • Assists in the review of contractor plans, work breakdown structure, scope descriptions, detailed schedules, and milestone descriptions.
    • Provides preventive maintenance recommendations for Plant and Co-Gen Instrumentation and Electrical Systems to ensure 100% reliability.
    • Ensure all Plant and Co-Gen Instrumentation and Electrical systems meet Safety, Design and Construction Codes.
    • Support plants during unit outage and turnaround work activities as required

    Required Education and Experience

    • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering
    • 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing plant
    • Solid knowledge of the following related entities and requirements as it relates to the NEC - National Electrical Code:
    • ANSI/IEEE (American National Standards Institute/Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) standard device numbers
    • NESC - National Electrical Safety Code
    • NETA - International Electrical Testing Association
    • NFPA - National Fire Protection Association
    • Ability to use a variety of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Office; design software; Arc Flash; AutoCad etc.
    • Strong communication skills especially with respect to presenting analytical data; project instruction; department collaboration
    • Proven record of managing projects timely, efficiently and with budget conscious results
    • Demonstrated safe behavior and leadership practice through all projects and department interactions
