The Behavioral Health Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and a genuine passion for helping others.
Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors in a warm and welcoming manner.
Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage appointment reminders.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area.
Collect patient information, including personal and insurance details.
Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations.
Assist patients with completing intake forms and paperwork.
Process patient payments, co-pays, and outstanding balances.
Coordinate with billing department to ensure accurate invoicing and billing information.
Maintain electronic medical records (EMR) system, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Scan and file documents into patient records as needed.
Assist with record requests and transfers in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide information to patients regarding clinic services, procedures, and treatment options.
Address patient inquiries and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient care coordination.
Assist with various administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and inventory management.
Coordinate with other departments to facilitate efficient clinic operations.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred.
Previous experience in a medical or behavioral health setting is highly desirable.
Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and medical billing software.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Compassionate and empathetic demeanor, with a genuine desire to help others.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Walking, Sitting, Bending, and Standing for extended periods of time. Able to lift and hold 20# without fatigue for brief periods of time.
