This role consists of minimizing customer downtime on equipment through quick, accurate diagnosis. Traveling via service truck, this role will be onsite with customers, performing maintenance and small repairs on various types of construction equipment. When not in the field, this role will work within the branch shop, troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, ignition, and pneumatic systems, diagnosing diesel and gas engines, and performing maintenance on drive trains.

About the Position

Maintenance and Repairs: Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostics on a variety of diesel-powered equipment, including heavy machinery, trucks, and smaller tools. This includes tasks like changing oil and filters, inspecting hydraulic systems, and addressing any mechanical issues.
Outdoor Work: As a field service mechanic, you'll work primarily outdoors, often in less-than-ideal weather conditions. This may include working in the rain, snow, or extreme heat. Be prepared to adapt to the elements while maintaining safety standards.
Safety Sensitivity: This position is safety-sensitive, meaning that the mechanic's job directly affects the safety of the equipment and those who operate it. Strict adherence to safety protocols and guidelines is crucial.
Physical Demands: The job can be physically demanding, as it involves lifting heavy equipment parts, crawling under machinery, and standing for extended periods. Good physical fitness and stamina are important.
Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: You'll need strong problem-solving skills to identify issues with equipment, conduct thorough diagnostics, and determine the appropriate repair procedures.
Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required because you will need to travel to job sites and transport equipment to and from the service location.

Requirements

Licenses and Certifications:

DOT Medical Card

Preferred Qualities/Experience:

Five to seven years' experience as diesel mechanic, with a construction or heavy equipment background.
Must have the tools you need to do the job; 10K in estimated value.
Experience with diesel and gas engines as well as drive trains is required.
Experience performing preventative maintenance and major repairs on hydraulic, electrical, ignition, pneumatic systems is necessary.
You will have strong troubleshooting and diagnostics skills and experience with electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engines and gas engines.
A DOT medical card is required - don't have one? Don't worry We can help you get yours.
Solving problems and troubleshooting go hand-in-hand in this role.
Know your metro Familiarize yourself with your surroundings, or at least be able to tell Google to get you from point A to B.
Must be open to covering a territory in Orlando, you will be based in a field setting within this territory working on customer job sites.
