Job summary
A successful candidate will play an active role in the City of College Park's existing operational success. The purpose of the position is to independently perform work of a recurring and regular nature in accordance with established and well-known policies procedures and practices. Progress of work is checked and instruction is provided on accomplishing work involving unusual problems or the use of unfamiliar equipment.This position is responsible for the general maintenance cleaning sanitizing sweeping mopping vacuuming floors making minor equipment facility repairs daily garbage collection disposal wet dry mops floors vacuums strips waxes buffs floors operates power-cleaning equipment mechanical cleaners polishers mixes cleaning agents as directed vacuums spotcleans shampoos carpets empties cleans waste receptacles dust waxes washes polishes furniture counters woodwork metalwork cleans washes windows walls window sills screens assigned cleans restrooms replenishes supplies moves arranges furniture equipment required performs basic maintenance repairs building orders maintains inventory custodial supplies directed performs variety labor tasks loading unloading supplies performs basic installation repairs doors walls ceilings roofs mechanical electrical equipment hardware perform painting related duties perform basic carpentry drywall work supply engineering services trade shows events operate building automated systems HVAC controls
