As a Warranty Inspector (WI) at ETE, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our torque converters by conducting detailed inspections and teardown analyses. You'll collaborate with experienced transmission builders and inspectors across a wide range of transmission families. This role requires a proactive mindset, strong communication skills, and a commitment to continuous learning—both in technical knowledge and in mastering the systems used for inspection and reporting.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

Strategic Data Leadership:

• Conduct the teardown and analysis of torque converters from production and warranty claims.

• Apply strong analytical skills to identify root causes, patterns, and potential improvements.

• Utilize strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate findings and insights.

• Demonstrate effective time management and decision-making skills.

• Self-starting and motivated; demonstrate teamwork and the ability to support others.

• Maintain a commitment to continued education and skill development.

• Working knowledge of basic computer systems, including email systems.

Reporting & Visualization:

• Effectively document and communicate teardown findings through Trello, Salesforce, and other reporting tools.

Governance & Data Quality:

• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards, established procedures, and legal regulations.

• Perform quality-related and administrative support tasks as requested.

• Uphold and model ETE's core values in all work activities.

Operational Insights & Efficiency:

• Perform teardown and inspection of approximately 20–30 torque converters per day.

• Perform manual lathe activities as requested.

• Demonstrate understanding of torque converter theory and operation.

• Apply transmission and/or torque converter inspection experience.

• Identify torque converters visually by family (e.g., 6L80, 48RE, 4R100, etc.).

• Utilize basic metrology tools including dial calipers, height gauges, and bore gauges.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to properly take and read various gages and dimensions, able to follow oral and written instructions
  • Computer proficiency
  • Previous warehouse and mechanical background, past machine shop and automotive parts experience preferred
  • Must be 18 years old, high school diploma preferred, detail oriented, ability to bend, twist, pull & push
  • Willingness and understanding you will get dirty at times, and may have to work with chemicals
  • Skill of working with your hands, multiple types of tools, fixtures, gages and other instruments
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand & work on your feet for 8+ hours a day and under pressure at times
  • Have a Can-Do Attitude, with good time management, communication and decision-making skills
  • Self-starting and motivation; believe in teamwork and uphold the ability to always help others
  • Adhere to all safety rules, give it your all every day, must have regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
