    Onsite/ Hybrid/ Remote: 3 days a week

    Duration:6 months

    Rate Range: $ 96/hr on W2 depending on experience (no C2C or 1099 or sub-contract)

    Work Authorization: GC, USC, All valid EADs except H1b

    Overview:

    • Will be building Wordpress sites
    • Shorter-migrating to different sites

    Important to have:

    • Web development experience with Wordpress production
    • PHP, React, API's
    • Resource will build custom Wordpress sites and provide integration. Must know Gutenberg block themes
    • Will integrate large internal websites.
    • Implementing scrum
    • Must have experience with Agile Software Delivery

    Description:

    As a Software Engineer within Enterprise Technology's Custom Applications group, you will be responsible for development and sustainment of modern WordPress websites for a variety of teams across the company. You will bring your expertise in WordPress, Gutenberg editor, PHP, JavaScript, and React to deliver custom block themes, blocks, plugins, and API integrations as part of a cross functional project team.

    It is a hybrid role with offices in Orlando, Florida or Burbank, California.

    Project team members will be on-site Monday-Wednesday, remote Thursday-Friday.

    Responsibilities:

    Work closely with stakeholders and delivery team peers to translate business and functional requirements into production WordPress solutions. This includes both expert use of WordPress' core no-code capabilities and custom development of block themes, blocks, plugins, and API integrations.

    Execute hands-on, full-stack software development using defined development standards and enterprise-class software development tools and workflows.

    Perform code reviews for compliance, security, performance, and best practices.

    Triage technical issues and coordinate mitigation/remediation with impacted business and technical partners.

    Analyze/audit existing applications to identify code, platform, or capability gaps and provide recommendations to product teams.

    Create and maintain technical documentation on products, processes, features, and solutions.

    Build working relationships with technology teams across the enterprise to identify opportunities and potential impacts.

    Basic Qualifications:

    Passionate about modern WordPress and the Gutenberg editor.

    3+ years of professional development experience with modern web frameworks, languages, and libraries. Special focus on active experience developing for WordPress with Gutenberg using PHP and React.

    Fluency with enterprise class software development tools and workflows, including virtualization (Docker), IDEs (JetBrains), version control (GitLab), Git branching (Gitflow), and ticketing systems (Jira).

    Experience with RESTful web services and REST APIs.

    Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

    Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and derive technical solutions from non-technical business needs.

    Flexible, organized, and motivated to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

    Passion for the legacy, brands, and offerings of The Walt Disney Company.

    Familiarity with digital accessibility and inclusion best practices, including Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and accessibility testing within the development process.

    Familiarity with UX concepts and workflows to transform design prototypes (Figma) into standards-compliant, accessible solutions.
