Summary of Role
We're seeking an experienced Vice President (VP) of Finance with extensive operational leadership to oversee a high-performing team.
As a strong leader, communicator and skilled financial analyst, the VP of Finance will streamline our budgeting and financial reporting processes.
The VP of Finance will also produce thorough financial-status reports for senior managers to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth of client SMBs, both internal and external client companies.
The VP of Finance manages onboarding, transforming and servicing clients with full-service finance, accounting, business intelligence, strategy, digital transformation, governance and compliance.
The VP of Finance will be responsible for full implementation of controllership, accounting systems, treasury management, audit and robust reporting.
The top priorities for the VP of Finance will be to lead the accounting team, manage day-to-day institutional grade accounting operation, deliver precise, accurate financial reporting, fully engage in client communication for seamless delivery of key information and provide core support in other specialty areas offered by Level Up on Finance, while managing companies planning, projections and reporting requirements.
ResponsibilitiesAll responsibilities support multiple internal and external client companies:
Oversee the accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls
Manage the general ledger and prepare financial statements
Oversee accounts payable and receivable
Ensure the company's financial records are accurate and up-to-date
Lead the accounting team in recurring bank and balance sheet reconciliations, audits, and month-end close, quarter end, and annual-end
Oversee the implementation and optimization of financial systems and technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial processes
Help coordinate construction of relevant KPIs for clients and provide accurate, timely reporting of the KPIs
Responsible for preparation and review of annual budgets, revenue projections, and performance projections
Partner with C-Suite to ensure rolling 12-month financial projections are timely and accurately prepared
Education & Experience:
BS in accounting/finance required
CPA required
5+ years of Controller level experience concentrated in real estate, construction, private lending, private equity, finance and/or related fields required
Superior written and verbal communication skills; ability to interface with a variety of sophisticated contacts in a highly visible environment
Outstanding management and organizational skills; demonstrate ability to organize accounting operations, design and implement procedures, systems, and policies, lead a team, and maintain a high level of efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness
Familiarity with federal business income tax and tax returns
High proficiency in Excel and Power BI
Capable of learning and using project management programs such as Asana
QuickBooks experience required
Proficiency in NetSuite preferred
Ability to maintain a positive disposition and good work ethic regardless of work demands
