    Description

    The Contracts Specialist / Paralegal reports directly to the VP of Human Capital (HR) and Legal and manages the full contract lifecycle.

    The Contract Specialist will provide support to the organization in reviewing and negotiating contracts, maintaining all related data and documentation, and will act as the point of contact for all Terms and Conditions and Statements of Work (NDA, MSA, T&C, SOW, etc.).


    Critical Job Functions:

    • Manage the full cycle contract process by creating templates using pre-approved language, developing a system for tracking amendments and changes, and providing a centralized point of expertise and accountability to ensure that contractual requirements are met.
    • Review contracts and provide suggested edits to the VP of Human Capital and Legal.
    • Independently negotiate and implement new contracts, statements of work, and amendments.
    • Work collaboratively with Legal, Operations, IT, and Sales departments and internal users on a variety of related matters.
    • Advise management and stakeholders of contractual rights and obligations.
    • Ensure compliance with vendor requirements and drive cost efficiency.
    • Compile and analyze data as required, maintain historical information on all contracts.
    • Direct and assist on other legal matters and projects as needed, including contract reviews and negotiation, risk assessment, and dispute resolution.

    Job Requirements:

    • 3-5 years of experience in Purchasing, Contract Negotiation, or Legal.
    • Solid knowledge of and ability to recognize typical contractual provisions (term, termination, renewal, non-compete, etc.)
    • Well experienced in legal writing, as well as creating and maintaining SOPs for the Legal department, and promoting best practices to the organization at every level.
    • Strong negotiation and analytical skills
    • Ability to work on projects independently or with little supervision. Flexibility and ability to adapt to constantly changing priorities.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complexities across a wide range of internal and external parties in a remote environment.
    • Experience with using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • Prior experience working with contract management software is preferred, but not required.
    • Paralegal certificate preferred, but not required.
    • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred, or years of relevant work experience

    Compensation:
    * $60,000 - $75,000 per year.
