    Description

    Duties Summary

    Skilled individual who performs a wide variety of skilled carpentry work in the construction, alteration and repair of homes, buildings, and facilities. Trained and competent in the proper and safe operation of equipment and tools required to be used on a construction project. May lead job site crews to facilitate the completion of project safely, and at a high quality of workmanship. Pay depends on experience ($35-$45).

    Minimum Qualification Requirements

    High School Diploma or equivalent.

    Completed apprenticeship or experience equivalent.

    Able to lift a load weighing up to 100 pounds.

    Able to stand, climb, and/or bend for many hours.

    Problem-solving skills to modify building materials and make adjustments onsite to complete projects.

    Ability to communicate effectively, as carpenters often work as part of a team to complete a project.

    Be able to clear a background check to obtain necessary passes and badges to gain access to government and private sector facilities.

    Possess a valid driver's license and have personal means of transportation.

    Provide own hand tools and select power tools.

    21. direct and coordinate construction of mine shafts or tunnels

    22. record drilling progress or geological data

    23. create decorative textures in finish coat

    24. install wallpaper, fabric, or billboard posters

    25. mix paint, ingredients, or chemicals, according to specifications

    26. use basic carpentry techniques

    27. climb ladders, scaffolding, or utility or telephone poles

    28. communicate technical information

    29. communicate visually or verbally

    30. drive automobile, van, or light truck

    31. estimate time needed for project

    32. direct personnel in support of engineering activities

    33. design waste recovery methods

    34. fabricate, assemble, or disassemble manufactured products by hand

    37. inspect sewer, drain, or water main pipe joints to verify alignment or fit

    38. perform welding techniques over lengthy time span
