    Responsibilities:

    The Licensed Vocational Nurse assists in the medical care and treatment of students.

    • Demonstrates and abides by the Company Core Values and the operating principles.
    • Assists in conducting cursory examinations and physicals.
    • Assists in evaluation and treatment of students during sick call as per Job Corps Standing Orders.
    • Takes and records patients vital signs.
    • Performs phlebotomy procedures as required.
    • Administers specified medications and notes times and amounts on patients charts. Observes students and report adverse reactions to medication to Health Services Supervisor.
    • Schedules medical appointments.
    • Sterilizes equipment and supplies. Follows infection control procedures. Documents all procedures, counseling and education provided to students.
    • Attends required staff training sessions.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications:

    Minimum: Active, unrestricted Practical Nurses license to practice in state where center is located and one year experience. Model Core Values.

    Preferred: Minimum plus Job Corps experience.

    General Information: In order to perform the essential job functions of this position, candidate must have regular attendance.

    Knowledge Required: Sound nursing techniques. Ability to relate effectively to student population. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Good organizational skills. Ability to carry out instructions without constant supervision. Must maintain CPR/First Aid certificates.
