Job summary

We are seeking a Desktop Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing frontline support for all issues regarding end-user computing, installing and configuring all end-user Windows desktops and laptops, and maintaining current corporate standards through repair and upgrade. The candidate will also be responsible for monitoring system backups and assisting with system recovery testing, administering Office 365 and supporting Microsoft Teams, and installing and configuring desktops, laptops, printers, and other end-user equipment using current corporate standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and follow-up skills, as well as excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in an extremely fast-paced environment with varying duties assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Help Desk requests, providing frontline support for all issues regarding end-user computing
  • Install and configure all end-user Windows desktops and laptops and maintain current corporate standards through repair and upgrade
  • Monitor system backups and assist with system recovery testing
  • Administer Office 365 and support Microsoft Teams
  • Install and configure desktops, laptops, printers, and other end-user equipment using current corporate standards
  • Maintenance of hardware and software standards through updates, upgrades, repairs, and installation of patches and fixes
  • Includes installation of new software releases and system upgrades, evaluation, and installation of patches
  • Support and maintain IT policies and procedures to ensure industry and company compliance are upheld
  • Perform routine System Checks
  • Submit PO requisitions for equipment as needed
  • Manage and maintain IT inventory, ensuring accurate tracking, timely updates and proper documentation of all hardware and software assets

  • Fast learner with strong technical aptitude, attention to detail and follow-up skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (essential)
  • Professional, courteous, friendly demeanor and exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced environment with varying duties assigned

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field of study preferred or equivalent combination of education, certification, and job experience may be considered
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience preferred
