    Description:

    The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of transseptal puncture, complex ablation including atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia in structural heart disease, as well as implantation of bi-ventricular pacemakers/ICDs. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Board certified or board eligible in Cardiology Electrophysiology is required.

    Teaching responsibilities may include active participation in education of electrophysiology and cardiology fellows, and/or participation in the didactic lectures or workshops of the cardiovascular block of Curriculum 2000 as well as teaching medical students, residents and cardiology fellows. The academic clinician track requires 100 credits per year of active and high-quality teaching.

    Clinical responsibilities may include up to 31⁄2 days of EP laboratory coverage and 1 day of outpatient hours per week. Candidates will have the training and ability to independently perform ablation of supraventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation as well as endocardial and epicardial ventricular tachycardia. Extensive knowledge of sophisticated EP mapping and recording systems, including intracardiac echo is required. Selected candidates may participate in the EP section's clinical research efforts (enrollments of patients, evaluation of results).
