    About the team & opportunity
    Ontra is seeking a People Analytics Manager reporting to our Director, People Operations & Total Rewards.
    This role is a great individual contributor opportunity for a data-driven professional who is excited to build a People Analytics function from scratch. You will partner with multiple functions across the organization to design and improve data systems, workflows, and processes, all while delivering mission-critical insights and analyses to a variety of business and people team stakeholders.
    In the role, you will be asked to support a wide array of deliverables ranging from SQL queries, dashboards, and data visualizations, to complex spreadsheet-based models, and compliance reporting. Attention to detail, flexibility, and creative problem-solving will be key to success in this role, as the work you do will be different every day.

    What you'll do

    • Systems and Processes: Build deep understanding of Ontra's People team datasets, systems, and workflows; collaborate with others to improve the flow of data in various systems used by a variety of stakeholders
    • Data Visualization and Analysis: Leverage Google Sheets, SQL, and data visualization tools to deliver insights that inform business decision-making at Ontra
    • Cross-functional initiatives: Collaborate with Data, Finance, and other teams at Ontra to manage and improve data-related work e.g., employee listening, OKRs, headcount management
    • Consulting: Up-level the people team's data capabilities by training others on best practices and basic data visualization and analysis skills; provide guidance to stakeholders on how to use people data in decision making
    • Modeling: Develop key models such as capacity models and policy impact models that inform critical business decisions Reporting: Support the People Ops and Total Rewards team by responding to requests for people data reporting for various internal and external stakeholders e.g., government entities, investors, etc.


    What you'll bring

    • Technical skills: A strong grasp of SQL (3+ years of SQL), and a Google Sheets expert (5+ years of Google Sheets with the ability to build complex models and tools)
    • Data visualization: 5+ years experience manipulating datasets and building dashboards (e.g., Looker Studio, Sigma, Looker, Tableau)
    • Attention to detail: High tolerance for detail-oriented work and ability to consistently create high quality deliverables
    • HR knowledge: A basic understanding of HR teams, programs, metrics, and data


    Pay transparency
    Ontra takes individual candidate location, experience, and skills into consideration when determining compensation. The base pay range is listed below. Additionally, all positions are eligible for unit-based equity grants.
    Some positions may be eligible for additional compensation, such as commission or other variable compensation structures, which is not included in the below base pay range.

    Base pay range
    $104,000 - $146,000 USD
