    As part of the AWS Infrastructure organization, Data Center Planning and Delivery (DCPD) prepares for, plans, and builds the data centers that comprise the AWS cloud.


    We're seeking an experienced Technical Infrastructure Program Manager in Herndon, VA or Seattle, WA to oversee data center build projects.

    Technical Infrastructure Program Manager will lead cross-functional and technical teams from conceptual design feasibility through requirements, budget, completed design, implementation, testing, and deployment.

    Along the way, you will use your judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence without authority, analytical talent, technical aptitude, and leadership to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders across multiple time zones, manage capital budgets, eliminate non-value-add activity, design solutions, remove blockers, and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery.


    The successful candidate will be a strong communicator (both written and verbal), not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities, and be capable of understanding mechanical/electrical engineering concepts.

    They will be able to apply a variety of project management tools, methodologies and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle and exhibit demonstrated experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting and metric development/tracking.

    Other requirements include experience with MS Office, MS Project and MS SharePoint. Experience with Tableau, KanBan, Playbook, SQL and systems integration a plus.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience
    • Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies, related to infrastructure (i.e. network, data center, hardware)
    • Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Master's Degree or advanced professional degree.
    • Master's Degree or advanced professional certifications in management of complex, high value technology infrastructure projects.
    • Good understanding of data center technologies.
    • Experience in managing data center infrastructure deployments.
    • Experience with and deep understanding of multiple project management methodologies.
    • Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role.
    • Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role.
    • Well organized and able to work effectively under time pressure.

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.

    The base pay for this position ranges from $87,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,700/year in our highest geographic market.

    Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
