    GENERAL SUMMARYUnder the direction of a manager, the Sports Physical Therapist performs a wide variety of patient care activities related to orthopedic and sports conditions.

    Demonstrates excellence in sports physical therapy practice characterized by quality patient care and participation in formal and informal patient, student, community and staff education.

    Reports to Sports Medicine Manager and works in close cooperation with and under the clinical guidance of the referring physician(s).ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care, modifying treatment as appropriate in accordance with the plan of care.

    Monitors and documents response to and outcomes of prescribed care.
    Provides sports injury prevention instruction and techniques to patients, parents, coaches and others in the community.
    Performs other duties as assigned.

    LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONSCurrent State license as a Physical Therapist, Physical Therapist holding a valid Compact State license, or Physical Therapist Applicant awaiting licensure.

    MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSProfessional knowledge of physical therapy theory and practice. Must possess current CPR certification.

    WORKING CONDITIONSExpected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures.

    Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions due to the need to perform certain patient care activities can be expected.
