    About the Role


    The Central User Experience team at Trimble is looking for a talented and detail oriented Lead UI/UX Designer tolead the design teams working on the Modus Design System component and pattern library.

    In this role you will be leading user experience design & research, and design for Modus, Trimble's Design System.

    We are looking for a user experience designer specializing in design systems with exceptional visual design chops, an eye for detail, and understanding of accessibility to provide leadership, mentorship, and support for designers on the Modus Delivery Team and various other product teams across Trimble.

    You are a user-focused systems thinker with excellent communication skills and a passion for design.

    You will interpret the use cases and business requirements of a number of applications and make design decisions, working with stakeholders and development teams across the globe.

    You will make sure the patterns are tested with users to ensure quality and excellent user experience in our products.

    What You Will Do
    Lead a team of designers to support the design and development of the design system.
    Lead and coordinate Tiger Teams to ensure high quality of submissions and consistency with Modus foundations.

    Work closely with the Design Systems Product Manager, the delivery team, and various teams of contributors to manage existing and add new components and patterns to Modus.

    Manage a complex Figma library of patterns in sync with the style guide and code components. Coordinate and ensure proper merging of Figma branches. Ensure consistency between the style guide, Figma libraries, and code components.
    Define and establish processes for smooth consistent collaboration with designers and engineers.
    Interpret business/ team requirements, consider various use cases, and recommend solutions.
    Manage and review icon requests and submissions.
    Proactively identify and resolve issues early while maintaining relationships.
    Define design and guidelines for the Trimble pattern library. Write UI spec documentation.
    Make design decisions and recommendations in collaboration with other team members. Participate in the Modus Approval Committee.
    Conduct audits and reviews of product UIs and patterns.
    Mentor designers on how to use the design system.
    Gather and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data and make recommendations based on the findings. Design and send out surveys to measure design system effectiveness.
    Ensure our components and patterns meet accessibility guidelines. Provide recommendations
    Detail design, organize and maintain UI Kits in Figma for consumption by designers and engineers.
    Test the components with users. Create prototypes to test concepts. Synthesize and share data.
    Edit and publish guidelines and articles.
    Make design decisions and answer design system related questions.
    Review and approve Modus marketing materials.
    Provide clarification and specification to developers and QA.
    Participate in team meetings and learn about other projects.

    What Skills & Experience You Should Have

    8+ years of experience working in UX, 3+ years working in an enterprise environment, a degree in graphic or visual design, UX design, interaction design or a graduate of a UX bootcamp with a visual design background.

    Strong leadership skills and experience leading a design team, spearheading projects, conducting reviews, and providing feedback. Excellent communication and people skills.
    Experience managing or working with a design system.
    Experience with UX in an Agile environment.
    Experience with user research, empathy for the user, and passion for great user experience.
    Understanding of accessibility and WCAG.
    Collaborative behaviors and the ability to lead through influence
    Willingness to contribute your own creativity and originality; posses a dynamic sense of curiosity
    Fluency and advanced skills with Figma Enterprise.
    Experience with front end development

    About Your Location

    Preferred location is our corporate office in Westminster, CO. This is a hybrid role - with a 3 day in office and 2 day work from home requirement.
