Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our IT department in Tacoma, WA.

This role involves a hands-on approach to network management, including the physical setup of network components, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in various network hardware and software, particularly in Cisco and Meraki environments, and will have some experience in managing firewalls and SD-WAN solutions, particularly Palo Alto, sonic wall .

Exposure to industrial networking, especially in the oil and gas sector and operational technology (OT) environments, is a plus.

Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain network hardware such as switches, routers, and access points, with a focus on Cisco, Meraki, and similar technologies.

Manage and execute racking of network devices and be involved in meticulous network cable management to ensure organized and reliable network setups.

Perform routine replacements of network equipment, updating systems to meet the latest standards and technologies.
Conduct thorough troubleshooting and real-time analysis of network logs to diagnose and resolve network issues effectively.

Administer firewalls and security appliances, including SonicWall and Palo Alto firewalls, ensuring robust security protocols are in place to protect data and network operations.

Support and maintenance of SD-WAN technologies to enhance network performance and reliability across distributed environments.
Work collaboratively with teams across IT and operational departments, providing network support and expertise in an industrial setting.
This Network Engineer will be responsible for cleaning up the network at the Tacoma location.

They will perform an investigation of the current environment and work with the Network Architect who is going to re-design the system.

This person will troubleshoot any firewall issues, clean up the cables, routers & switches. Replace any damaged equipment, and make sure the environment runs smoothly.
