    Here's the Gist
    You will directly lead the Wolfspeed SiC power device reliability laboratory and team of reliability test engineers and technicians.

    Your team will be one of a number of reliability & failure analysis laboratories to be managed under a global laboratory manager, who reports directly to the director of the reliability & failure analysis department under the general R&D division of Wolfspeed.

    Staff:
    proactively manage the goals and development plans and career progression of engineers and technicians, proactive mentorship and guidance, conduct regular 1-1s with staff to ensure excellent teamwork and behavior consistent with the Wolfspeed values, ensure cross-training for redundant coverage, recruit for replacement and expansion requisitions and advise on strategic growth of the team
    Hands-on: essential to have strong desire and willingness to learn the tools, lab and techniques; get into the lab and roll up your sleeves to work directly with the engineers and technicians and be actively familiar with their work on an ongoing basis; and maintain consistent awareness of and proactively manage daily and strategic work of the team

    Lab space and facilities:
    managing the existing floor space through efficient use of space (5S), creative improvements for optimizing floor space use, and identifying new lab spaces for future growth
    Reliability stress systems (electrical, environmental, and ESD sensitivity characterization): designing and qualifying new internally built reliability stress systems (expanded capacity and new capabilities for new reliability stress tests needed) and preventative maintenance, technical documentation, and writing and maintaining controlled document operating procedures
    Define and implement projects that maintain and improve reliability stressing and testing capability of SiC Power devices.
    Collaborate with the reliability engineering and failure analysis teams to capture demands for future tools, obtain feedback on any issues or continual improvements desired, and strategize on future activities for the team in the context of the broader reliability & failure analysis department
    This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements)
    BS in STEM with expertise in electrical test systems, particularly reliability stress beds (electrical, thermal, environmental)
    3+ years of experience in leading and managing engineers and technicians in a semiconductor test or reliability laboratory with a s trong desire to proactively mentor and develop the team
    Expertise in basic electrical circuits, circuit design and functionality
    Expertise or at least working knowledge of semiconductor devices (especially wide bandgap, especially SiC power electronic conversion devices) and discrete packages (TO, surface mount and more advanced packaging types)
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Experience in writing reports and presenting technical data and information to a wide outer audience
    This position requires the lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations
