Technical Manager
Chicago area ink manufacturer is seeking a Technical Manager for their paste ink division. If you have a BS in Chemistry (or similar) with 10+ years of ink development (energy cure, lithographic, sheetfed, etc.) and some supervisory experience, this could be a great opportunity for you The company offers a competitive salary and benefit package.
The Technical Manager has overall responsibility for technical development and quality of the Paste Ink Division. The products produced are energy curable (UV, HUV, and LED), conventional sheetfed inks and UV coatings.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop effective technical organization including research and development and quality control personnel
Train subordinates to improve their skills and give them feedback to become more competent and productive employees
Conduct effective cost reduction scheme internally and with other related parties
Must have a hands-on leadership role since this position works closely with manager and supervisors throughout the plant and coordinates with other managers on all support activities
Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, recommending action, and follow-through of actions
Manage & implement the Companys policies and goals
Analyze and solve technical issues
Perform lab analysis and laboratory tasks as needed
Consider and make suggestions on facilities, equipment, and processes for future improvements
Annual written review of direct reports performance and goal setting; ongoing performance dialogue with personnel throughout year
Provide leadership, development, and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives
Establish expectations, demonstrate proper behaviors, manage and train personnel to secure a clean & safe working environment; suggest & implement safety improvements
Provide monthly reports to General Manager
