    Responsibilities:

    Psychiatry - Health Psychologist– Psychosocial Oncology Specialty

    The Division of Psychology in the department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking applicants for a Health Psychologist – Psychosocial Oncology Specialty to serve individuals on our interdisciplinary Onco-Psychology team in Oncology and Psychiatry. This position will join the current health psychologist in a rapidly growing, 23-member Psychology Division.

    The selected individual will join the Department of Psychiatry at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

    Job Duties Outlined:

  • Provide assessment, treatment, psychoeducation, and triage to outpatients with cancer and their caregivers at our NCI-Designated Cancer Center
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team-based care within the Center
  • Participate in the professional education of psychology interns and fellow in our APA accredited programs, as well practicum students, medical fellows, residents, and students
  • Collaborate with other faculty in scholarly activities
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the department chair
  • Required Qualifications:

  • Doctorate Degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from an APA or CPA accredited doctoral program (with an APA approved clinical internship)
  • One-year relevant post-doctoral experience in psychosocial oncology or health psychology
  • Must be fully licensed or licensable in the State of Kansas (primary) and Missouri (or PSYPACT) by the time of the appointment
