    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: This position is paid as a stipend in accordance with the Greenville Education Association Master Agreement. This position is not eligible for benefits.

    JOB SUMMARY: The assistant football coach is responsible for assisting the head coach in fostering character development of athletes, and providing direction to athletes so that they might achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork in football.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: other duties may be assigned
    • Responsible for forming teams and providing them with high-level training and competitions
    • Responsible for representing the school and its community in a professional manner
    • Promote team-oriented goal setting, accountability, and clear expectations
    • Promote sportsmanship, foster character development, and monitor progress of individual athletes
    • Supervise students in practice areas, on buses, and during games
    • Maintain equipment and assist with uniform distribution and collection
    • Maintain accurate and complete student records
    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
    • Sport-specific knowledge of drills, rules, and strategies
    • Fundamental knowledge of sport and coaching principles
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills
    • Ability to work well with other coaches, parents, and student athletes
    • Knowledge of MHSAA policies
    • Must be able to pass a background check with no criminal history
    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Experience working with middle school-aged youth preferred
