Description

Location: Cherokee County Health Dept. (Dental Dept.)-Canton, GA

Job Responsibilities

Assists dentist in management of medical and dental emergencies
Exposes dental diagnostic x-rays
Instructs clients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs
Makes preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting model pours, trims, and polishes study models
Prepares clients, sterilizes and disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays
Prepares materials and assist dentist during dental procedures
Provides post operative instructions prescribed by the doctor
Records treatment information in client records
Records medical and dental histories and vital signs of patients
Receives additional training, as required to gain full proficiency and experience in all areas

Minimum Qualifications

Vocational/Technical degree in dental assisting from an accredited college OR High school diploma or GED AND Six months of experience in a dental setting.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual English/Spanish
Familiar with Phosphor plate digital radiographs

Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board rules regarding salary.
