    Job Description

    American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in Washington, DC, requiring a DC RN license and minimum two years of recent specialty experience.

    Responsibilities
    Work in a hospital medical/surgical telemetry unit
    Three 12-hour night shifts per week
    Patient population includes adult Med/Surg and telemetry cases
    Use of telemetry monitoring equipment and Cerner EMR is required
    Provide comprehensive nursing care to Med/Surg and telemetry patients
    Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments and document findings
    Demonstrate ability to interpret and address patient needs across the lifespan
    Admission assessments must be completed within established timeframes
    Must submit two manager or supervisor references verifying recent experience
    Holiday coverage and floating may be required as directed by the department
    Dress code and scrub color details provided upon assignment

    Requirements
    Active DC RN license (standard or compact) in hand
    Minimum of two years' recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience in a US hospital
    American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS certifications required
    NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
    Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification mandated by position
    Graduate from an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
    BSN highly desired
    Experience with Cerner EMR required
    Must live at least 25 miles away from the facility to be eligible as a traveler
    Social Security number required for consideration
