    The General Manager at The Drake Oak Brook, Autograph Collection holds the ultimate responsibility for leading every facet of hotel operations—from Rooms, Food & Beverage, and Sales & Marketing, to Finance, Administration, and Engineering. More than a leader of operations, the GM is the architect of culture, setting the tone for a workplace that blends timeless elegance with modern hospitality innovation.

    Distinguished with the Best Boutique Hotel award, The Drake Oak Brook is a celebrated destination where guests experience refined accommodations, elevated dining at Coa, and world-class banquet and event offerings. The GM will guide this legendary property into its next chapter, balancing operational excellence with the artistry of guest experience.

    What You'll Do

    • Deliver guest experiences that resonate. Proactively anticipate needs and ensure service, amenities, and programming align with luxury expectations.
    • Drive financial performance. Partner with sales, marketing, and revenue management to maximize topline revenue, control expenses, and achieve or exceed budgeted results.
    • Elevate dining & events. Ensure Coa delivers bold, vibrant cuisine and that banquet and event spaces set the standard for memorable celebrations, meetings, and gatherings.
    • Build and inspire teams. Hire, train, and retain best-in-class talent who embrace accountability, creativity, and collaboration.
    • Lead with vision. Model the property's culture of excellence while empowering department heads to deliver operational consistency and inspired guest service.
    • Foster inclusion and belonging. Champion a workplace that welcomes diverse perspectives, supports growth, and cultivates engagement among associates.
    • Be the brand steward. Protect and evolve the hotel's reputation by aligning with Marriott Autograph Collection standards and First Hospitality's values.
    • Stay guest-obsessed. Listen actively, empathize, and act swiftly to resolve challenges and elevate satisfaction.
    • Ensure readiness. Maintain safety protocols, emergency procedures, and operational best practices at all times.

    What Makes You Successful

    Experience & Education

    • 5+ years of progressive hotel leadership experience, ideally in an upper-upscale or luxury environment
    • Proven ability to oversee dynamic F&B operations—including signature restaurants, banquets, and high-profile events—while balancing creativity, consistency, and profitability
    • Sales and revenue management expertise strongly preferred
    • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
    • Valid driver's license

    Leadership & Communication

    • Visionary leadership with the ability to inspire and align cross-functional teams
    • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with a diplomatic, solutions-driven approach
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and hospitality management systems
