    Description

    Lifesize is Hiring for a Senior Developer Position in Austin, Texas

    Lifesize, a top provider of high-definition video communication hardware systems and cloud video services, is seeking a Senior Developer to join their Communications Services software development team in Austin, Texas.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Help build new software services to modernize existing architecture and expand capacity.
    • Translate product requirements into technology choices and server-side implementation.
    • Collaborate with developers, designers, testers, and product managers to deliver ongoing product enhancements.
    • Resolve high priority customer issues with quick turnaround times.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 5+ years of work experience, including 3+ years in Linux server-side application development.
    • Experience with VoIP protocols like H.323 / SIP and programming in Python.
    • Background in developing low-latency, scalable, and highly available applications.

    IDEAL CANDIDATE DESCRIPTION

    • Previous involvement in VoIP cloud service or server product development.
    • Hands-on experience with Python and an understanding of event-driven programming.
    • Knowledge of VoIP session setup using SIP and/or H.323 and cloud architectures.
    • Experience with AWS services like DynamoDB, RabbitMQ, Nginx, Redis.
    • Ability to document and communicate design and implementation details effectively.
    • Proficient in writing readable code with unit test coverage and utilizing Git and CI systems.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with test tools.
    • Enthusiastic about learning new technologies and collaborating on diverse projects.
    • Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
    • Preferably hold a degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent real-world experience.

    EXPERIENCE WITH

    • WebRTC signaling support, Microsoft Skype for Business interoperability, Docker, Kubernetes.
