    Header Welder

    Day shift

    Summary:

    Welding Experience:

    A header welder should have a solid background in welding, with experience in various welding processes such as TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), and stick (SMAW) welding.


    Header Welding Experience:

    Specific experience in welding headers or header components is often required, along with a strong understanding of header fabrication techniques and specifications.


    Blueprint Reading:

    Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols is essential for understanding project requirements and specifications.


    Welding Certifications:

    Depending on the employer and industry, header welders may need to hold relevant welding certifications, such as AWS (American Welding Society) certification or ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) certification.

    • Read blueprints, work orders, or production schedules to determine product or job instructions or specifications.
    • Inspect, measure, or test completed metal workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using measuring and testing devices.
    • Assemble, align, and clamp workpieces into holding fixtures to bond, heat-treat, or solder fabricated metal components.
    • Set up, operate, or tend welding machines that join or bond components to fabricate metal products or assemblies.
    • Lay out, fit, or connect parts to be bonded, calculating production measurements, as necessary.
    • Select, position, align, and bolt jigs, holding fixtures, guides, or stops onto machines, using measuring instruments and hand tools.
    • Fill hoppers and position spouts to direct flow of flux or manually brush flux onto seams of workpieces.
